Artist Matsudaira Sadanobu

Biography Matsudaira Sadanobu(1759-1829) was a feudal lord of Shirakawa Domain(present south part of Fukushima Prefecture.) Also known as a grandson of the eighth Shogun, Tokugawa Yoshimune and son of Tayasu Munetake from three privileged branches of Tokugawa family. Adopted into Matsudaira family to succeed as family head and became the lord of the Domain. Also well-known for the administrator who instituted Kansei reforms based on Kyoho reforms. Edited Shirakawa Fudoki(Topographical Records of Shirakawa Province) and associated with Rai Sanyo.
