Title Waka - Japanese Poem
Biography Seisetsu Shucho(1745-1820) was a monk of Rinzai-shu sect and poet born in Iyo Province(present Ehime Prefecture). Art name as Muyodojin and posthumous as Daiyokokushi. Studied under Tozan Shucho of Enkaku-ji Temple, Kamakura then inherited the Dharma. Studied Waka (Japanese poem ) under Kagawa Kageki. He also well versed in calligraphy, painting and tea ceremony. His poetry collection is titled as " Seisetsu Zenji Shu".
