Biography	Kano Tanyu(1602-1674) was a Japanese painter born in Kyoto Prefecture as the elderst son of Kano Takanobu, grandson of Kano Eitoku. At the age of 16, he was appointed as an official painter for Tokugawa Shogunate and moved to Edo(now Tokyo). Worked on the wall paintngs in Nijo Castle, Nagoya Castle and Imperial Palace etc. Established his own school named Kajiyabashi-Kano. Kogetsu Sogan (1574-1643) was a Japanese Rinzai monk born in Izumi-Sakai (present Sakai, Osaka). Successor of Shunoku Soen. The 156th head priest of Daitokuji. Excelled at tea ceremony, Japanese poem and calligraphy.
